Each year we attend many events at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival with our friends Ashley and Helen. This year it was the festival’s 20th Anniversary and there have been very special events.  We have been to two ‘pork’ events…an excellent lunch at La Luna in Carlton, with Chef Adrian Richardson, who always does wonders with suckling pigs, plus, this time also with roasted kids, poussins…all accompanied by some sensational Australian Pinot Noirs.    Here Adrian is ‘attacking’ the roasted kid.

There is a wonderful atmosphere in this restaurant –  Adrian is very welcoming and happy to allow the interested diners into the kitchen to watch the carving!

The other was at Casa & Bottega in North Melbourne, with chef Mike who demonstrated the ‘Art of Porchetta’- porchetta is a traditional Italian dish…of roast suckling pig or pork shoulder, seasoned with garlic and herbs.  Porchetta is often included in our Italianicious – Cooking with Passion classes.
