It has been warm, hot really, with sunny, blue skies; absolutely marvellous. Makes you feel good when you wake to peaceful, warm mornings.

The scenery is magnificent on this Canal de Bourgogne and we are enjoying every minute. It is said to be one of the most beautiful canal trips in France and it is lovely with lush, green scenery, huge, tall trees and purple wild flowers lining the canal, fields of sunflowers, harvested hay fields and some glorious little villages along the route.

There are always the bike-riders and their families, walkers and of course the fishermen!

We are barging along the same route as last time, just for the first few days, and then after Tanlay, it is new territory.

Margaret, John’s sister who lives in Kent, England, is coming for a week next Sunday and so we are planning a very special visits for her.
